Don't worry - you're not alone!

        "WHS is too complicated"

"I don't really know what I'm doing"

"WHS is so time consuming!"

"They didn't teach us this much at Uni..."

"We can't afford to hire a full-time safety advisor"

What is WHS.

Why you need it.

When do we start?

WHS refers to the policies, procedures, and practices designed to protect the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees, contractors, visitors, and others in the workplace.

It involves identifying and managing risks, complying with legal obligations, providing training, and fostering a safety culture to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and incidents.

Failing to implement a Work Health and Safety (WHS) management plan exposes a workplace to significant risks, including:

1. Increased Workplace Injuries and Illnesses

2. Legal and Financial Penalties

3. Reduced Productivity

4. Higher Costs

5. Reputational Damage

6. Low Employee Morale

7. Increased Risk of Fatalities

8. Loss of Business Opportunities

9. Regulatory Shutdowns

10. Psychosocial Risks

If you own a business in healthcare (or any business), you are defined as a PCBU - a person conducting a business or undertaking. Under the WHS Act 2011 Section 19 the PCBU has a primary duty of care.
